Learning Commons Coordinator, Loyola University New Orleans. The award-
winning J. Edgar & Louise S. Monroe Library is seeking a creative and 
forward thinking library faculty member to serve as the Learning Commons 
Coordinator. The successful candidate will participate in the development 
of Learning Commons services, policies, and teaching and learning spaces 
and coordinate Learning Commons training, scheduling, and assessment.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  ALA-accredited MLS; experience working in an 
academic library and/or other academic service environment; excellent 
personnel management skills; a commitment to responsive and innovative 
service, and the ability to balance varied responsibilities; demonstrated 
ability to work in an active learning environment and juggle multiple 
tasks. We are looking for a motivated and organized individual, with 
excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills and a strong 
commitment to team-based work. The candidate must have skills and 
experience in project planning and implementation in a service 
environment. Fluency with basic computer applications and web page editing 
is required. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Interest in designing and developing innovative learning spaces; 
experience with Blackboard or other course management software; 
familiarity with Sirsi or other integrated library system; technology 
support experience; interest in developing Web 2.0 and Library 2.0 
applications. 

The onsite interview process will consist of interviews, meetings, and a 
presentation.

Loyola University’s Monroe Library is located on a beautiful campus in 
uptown New Orleans, facing Audubon Park and the historic streetcar line. 
Loyola University is a Catholic institution that emphasizes the Jesuit 
tradition of educating the whole person.  

This is a 12-month, tenure-track position with 20 days of vacation and 
competitive benefits package including TIAA-CREF.  Appointment will be at 
the Assistant Professor level ($45,000 minimum, salary commensurate with
