Smathers Libraries seek a Women’s and Gender Studies (WGS) Librarian & Research Services Coordinator. This position is a year-round (12-month), tenure-track library faculty position in Library West, the Humanities & Social Sciences (H&SS) branch of the George A. Smathers Libraries. This position oversees the development, management, and coordination of Library West’s extensive collection of resources encompassing all formats related to women’s and gender studies. While this position's primary collection management focus is women’s and gender studies, an essential secondary aspect involves a strong understanding of its intersections with the humanities and social sciences. Additionally, this position serves as the Library West Research Services Coordinator, including managing the Library West Research Assistance Desk and On Call scheduling, promoting, and marketing Library West’s research assistance-related services to students and faculty, and maintaining Research Assistance Desk statistics and other related assessment data and reports. The WGS Librarian also works closely with other library employees, providing support in the broader areas of the humanities and social sciences, especially overlapping, interdisciplinary areas, managing specialized WGS subject area reference, outreach, and instruction services, and participating in branch and Libraries-wide general reference, library instruction, and outreach programming.
