Subject: [DCN-Curators] Research Data Librarian Job at Cornell University

My department is hiring a data librarian! The anticipated academic rank for this position is Assistant Librarian, with an anticipated salary range of $61,000 to $67,000.

Research Data Librarian - Cornell University Library

Cornell University Library seeks a Research Data Librarian. Reporting to the Director, Research Data and Open Scholarship (RDOS), the Research Data Librarian helps support Cornell University researchers throughout the research data lifecycle to meet their planning, management, analysis, sharing and archival needs. The Research Data Librarian collaborates with peers in RDOS, the Digital Scholarship Services group, and other library and disciplinary units to provide a suite of services related to the stewardship of findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable data. This may include advising researchers on the use of disciplinary repositories, Cornell’s eCommons Institutional Repository, and other data sharing and preservation platforms to facilitate discovery, reproducibility and long-term access.  The Research Data Librarian works at the intersection of existing services and new opportunities for engaging with faculty, staff and students in research data stewardship.

Please note that we are adopting an accelerated approach to hiring, so applications should be submitted soon for full consideration. Additionally, if you know someone you think would be a particularly good fit for the job, could you share names and contact information with me so I can reach out directly to them? We are adopting a more proactive approach to recruiting at the Library and would like to send personal emails to any potentially strong candidates. I’m happy to answer any questions about living in Ithaca and working at Cornell!

Best,

Sarah (Search Committee Chair)
