JOB SUMMARY
The Instruction and Outreach Librarian reports to the Director of Library Services. This position will coordinate the library instruction program and outreach initiatives. The successful candidate will possess knowledge of educational theory and practices including instructional design, learning outcomes and assessment, and active learning strategies.
This position is a valuable part of a small, highly collaborative team of librarians and paraprofessionals who are committed to providing excellent service and user experience to the campus community. The ideal candidate will be organized and adaptive as well as interested in critical librarianship and joining a campus community and library staff that promotes diversity, respect, and inclusion. Early career professionals are highly encouraged to apply. Anticipated salary range for this role is $38,000 - $43,000 yearly with a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical coverage, 403b, 23 Paid Time Off days, 21 Holidays, tuition remission, and much more.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  *   Conduct course-related information literacy instruction, incorporating new approaches to teaching and learning into existing research and instruction programs.
  *   Support the campus community with instructional design, educational technology integration, and pedagogical innovation.
  *   Design and implement assessment instruments to measure learning outcomes for library instruction services, to allow for ongoing review, evaluation, and improvement of services.
  *   Select, promote, and develop online tutorials and digital learning objects.
  *   Provide general and subject-specific reference and research support.
  *   Work as a liaison with the faculty and students to help promote library resources, library services, and open educational resources.
  *   Participate in library initiatives and campus-wide service.
  *   Coordinate library publications and communications such as annual reports, newsletters, and social media posts.
  *   Maintain current knowledge of the trends and issues in higher education, scholarly communication, online education, education technologies, and research practices.

 SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  *   Masters Degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA accredited institution
  *   Early career professionals and members of historically underrepresented groups are highly encouraged to apply.
  *   Experience in an academic setting preferred
  *   Adept at learning and adapting to new technologies
  *   Ability to communicate effectively
  *   Demonstrated commitment to diversity, respect, and inclusion
