Please read the changes below set by the Bursar Office ***TN Strong Act changes and Spring 2024 VA benefit payment deadline*** ***Payment Deadline*** The Bursar Office is no longer allowing a last day of term payment deadline for all students on a VA deferment. You will no longer have until the last day of the term to make a payment without penalty. If you have any questions regarding the VA deferment payment and deadlines, please contact the Bursar Office with questions. The final due date is 3/27/24 for all deferment payment plans. ***TN Strong Act changes and Spring 2024 payment deadline*** Effective Spring 2024, a contract has been placed on TN Strong Act recipients accounts covering the costs (tuition, mandatory fees, course fees) that the Strong Act designated as approved charges (https://studentsuccess.utk.edu/veterans/tuition-assistance-and-tn-strong-act/). The contract payment on your account allows TN Strong time to process and send payment on your behalf. Benefits: * Ensure your class schedule is not cancelled. * Allows you to easily identify the charges not covered by the TN Strong Act. * Removes the concern of the TN Strong payment not arriving timely. TN strong act does not cover meals, housing, eBooks, etc. If you have charges other than tuition on your account, for example the $300.00 flex plan, it is your responsibility to take steps to ensure those charges are paid. Please remember TN Strong is a reimbursement plan. TN strong act payments are never made to the student. TN strong act will pay the school directly. Once grades have been posted for the spring semester our office submits those grades to the state strong act manager. Grades do not post until well after the last payment deadline of March 27th. Students using TN strong act will need to make payments on their account accordingly. TN strong act will cover the cost of tuition and fees, after all other federal and state aid has been issued to the school (army guard students must utilize tuition assistance in conjunction with the strong act).
