The Humanities Librarian serves as a liaison librarian to academic units in the College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts, currently comprising the following units: Creative Writing, English, Film Studies, Music, Philosophy & Religion, Theatre, Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies, and World Languages & Cultures.
The Humanities Librarian is a member of Randall Library’s Academic & Research Engagement (ARE) division, which collaborates with faculty, staff, and students in UNCW academic units to provide information literacy instruction, assist with research, develop the library collection, provide consultative services supporting research and scholarly communication, and partner on programming, in alignment with the information and research needs of campus constituents. Library faculty in this division proactively engage with campus constituents to promote the use of library services, facilities, materials, and expertise.
This is an 11-month non-tenure track special faculty position. Minimum annual salary for this position is $52,192.
New and recent MLIS graduates are encouraged to apply, as well as those expected to graduate in summer 2024. Applicants are encouraged to think broadly about and communicate how their skills and experiences transfer to the qualifications in ways that may not be obvious.
