Job Description: Reporting to the Head, Library Data Analytics and
Assessment, the Library Assessment Strategist works in a collaborative
library environment to plan, promote, and sustain a culture of assessment
across the Libraries and helps to articulate the value of academic library
services. Working alongside library units, this position supports shared
documentation of quantitative and qualitative assessment data collected for
the purpose of continuous improvement of library services, and ensures unit
alignment with the university’s mission and planning. They may also lead or
support targeted assessment activities that support internal or external
needs, and will ensure that assessment activities align with library and
university diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Overall, this
position will be responsible for integrating assessment methodologies with
planning and decision-making related to services, instruction, technology,
collections, physical spaces, outreach, archives, and overall library
initiatives.


Required Qualifications:

   -

   Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with library or assessment work
   experience or Master’s degree in library or information science or
   assessment-related field (e.g., statistics, data science, analytics)
   -

   Coursework or demonstrated experience using assessment and evaluation
   methodologies and tools
   -

   Demonstrated experience in providing internal and/or external consult
   services
   -

   Demonstrated expertise in using Excel for data analysis
   -

   Demonstrated experience in working in a collaborative team-based
   environment


Preferred Qualifications:

   -

   Work-related, advanced coursework, and/or professional development
   activities related to assessment or evaluation models in academic libraries
   -

    Experience using data visualization tools and techniques to communicate
   results
   -

    Demonstrated experience with project management
   -

    Familiarity with coding languages such as R, Python, SQL specifically
   for data analysis purposes
   -

    Familiarity with data tools such as OpenRefine, Tableau, NVivo, etc.
   -

   Advanced understanding of web accessibility standards and practices to
   ensure all digital services are inclusive and accessible to a diverse user
   base.
   -

   Working knowledge of managing a large collection of web pages and
   ensuring consistent appearance, branding and functionality across different
   browsers and systems.
   -

   Involvement in professional organizations or communities related to
   UI/UX, web development, or digital libraries.
