The University of South Florida would like to share with you three summer 2024 opportunities for undergraduates (See links and attachments).

The Weather, Climate, and Society REU http://bit.ly/WCS_REU_Brochure

The Making Waves REU https://bit.ly/3tsDEi9

The Program in Interdisciplinary Approaches to Climate Change Adaptation Research and Training (PIACCART)  https://bit.ly/3sYDmzE

These are Research Experience for Undergraduate programs sponsored by the National Science Foundation.

One is focused on weather, climate, and society (hosted at USF Tampa), another called “Making Waves” will focus on ocean health, global climate change, and science communication (hosted at USF St. Petersburg), and another focuses on interdisciplinary approaches to climate change adaptation research and training .  Students can apply to one, two, or all programs.

This is an amazing opportunity for undergrads from ANY major to gain valuable research experience and receive a stipend, travel, and housing.

All applications and related materials including unofficial transcripts and reference letter for the 2024 REU are due by February 1, 2024 for full consideration.

Please ask one of your professors (preferably) to write you a reference letter way ahead of that deadline.  There will be a couple of questions which require you to write a longer answer.  Most questions on the application are short answer however.

Any questions, please contact Jennifer Collins [log in to unmask] (for the weather, climate, and society REU), Ana Arellano for the Making Waves REU
[log in to unmask]
, and Richard Mbatu [log in to unmask] for the Program in Interdisciplinary Approaches to Climate Change Adaptation Research and Training (PIACCART) REU.
