Position Type: Temporary, Full-time, On-site

 

Under the direct supervision of the RCLS Library Board, the Interim Library Director will temporarily oversee the library while the Library Board conducts a nationwide search for a permanent Library Director. The Interim Library Director will serve as the lead for administering, advocating, and overseeing all phases and personnel of RCLS and advance RCLS’s mission in Rutherford County. Key opportunities include developing and implementing strategic goals, enhancing public access to new technologies, mentoring and coaching staff and seeking new service delivery models. 

 

Applicants should possess the following necessary requirements:  Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (Master’s Degree in Library Science preferred) with a minimum of five years' recent administrative level public library experience. The ideal candidate should possess strong supervisory, organizational, and interpersonal skills, experience in budget preparation and monitoring, proficiency in technology.
