“Increasing Engagement of Reference Services ”

Tuesday, November 14, 2023

11:00am central / 12:00pm eastern

Zoom: https://volstate.zoom.us/j/99605461464

If you believe that reference services are an essential service the academic library can offer, but you struggle with getting the message out to your students and faculty about how valuable these services are, then you are not alone! Join your colleagues from academic libraries across Tennessee for an informal discussion about increasing the awareness of reference services and engagement of students and faculty. Participants are invited to share their successes and struggles in areas such as engagement with incoming freshmen, ways to increase awareness of appointment availability, combatting the decline in reference transactions, or how you've utilized technology to enhance your reference services.

This moderated drop-in session is open to all and sponsored by the College and University Libraries Roundtable of the Tennessee Library Association.  The group, soon to be recast as the Academic Libraries Roundtable, is looking to revitalize the role of academic libraries in TNLA to create a forum for statewide networking, professional development, scholarly exchange, and continuing education. The November 14 event is the second in a series of informal Zoom drop-in discussions of topics of interest to academic libraries across the state.

Advance registration is not required.
