Dear geographers and sustainers, Please join me in congratulating your Association of Geographers and Sustainers president, Ella Hunter, as she has won the Merle C. Prunty Scholarship from the Southeastern Division of the American Association of Geographers (SEDAAG). This highly competitive annual award goes to an outstanding undergraduate student in the SEDAAG region and has the intention of encouraging talented students to pursue professional careers in geography. Dr. Prunty had a three-decade career as a professor of geography at the University of Georgia. He is credited by many as the father of modern geographic studies throughout the South. This award is no small achievement as one of SEDAAG’s oldest awards, many past recipients have now advanced into careers as academics and professional geographers in every corner of the world. Ella’s award will be announced the honor’s banquet at the upcoming SEDAAG meeting. Congrats, Ella!!
