Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the opportunity for MS Research Assistantships in Physical Geography and Watershed Management at Missouri State University starting from Fall 2024. Students will work closely with Ozarks Environmental and Water Resources Institute (OEWRI). Please help spread the word among students who are looking for MS programs in Physical Geography and Watershed Management. Flyer attached.

 

MS Research Assistantships in Physical Geography and Watershed Assessment (starting in Fall 2024):

 

Options include two graduate programs:

§MS in Geography and Geology.   https://geosciences.missouristate.edu/geographygeologygraduate/

§MS in Natural and Applied Sciences (Interdisciplinary program).   https://science.missouristate.edu/mnas/

§Assistantships include an annual stipend and full tuition remission for both in- and out of state students.

§Review of applications will begin in mid-February 2024.

 

MS thesis projects can include:

§Fluvial geomorphology and management of urban streams in the face of climate change.

§Hydrology and geomorphology of channel networks in Mark Twain National Forest.

§Nonpoint pollutant source assessment and modeling in mixed-use watersheds.

§Effects of historical/recent land use and climate change on Ozark rivers.

§Interaction between biological and physical processes in fluvial systems.

§Application of geospatial techniques in fluvial systems and watershed management.

 

About the Ozarks Environmental and Water Resources Institute (OEWRI)

  • OEWRI’s mission is to conduct applied and basic research to understand the influence of natural processes, human activities, and climate change on watershed health, water resources, and aquatic habitats.
  • OEWRI aims to establish regional partnerships, disseminate information, and provide educational and training opportunities related to scientific monitoring and management of water resources.
