Happy Friday, everyone. It was a real pleasure meeting you all and learning about the research, extension, and teaching efforts you are leading in your states. I am sorry that I will miss this morning’s Grower’s Workshop.

Garret—excellent job in organizing and leading this year’s meeting. Thank you.

A few follow-ups:

  * NIFA liaisons to this committee include not only Tom Bewick but also Mat Ngouajio. I will reach out to them both about what a great meeting we had this year and encourage them to join us at our next meeting.
  * You should be able to access this committee’s NIMSS page: NC1186: Water Management and Quality for Specialty Crop Production and Health – NIMSS<https://www.nimss.org/projects/18690> where you can view the project overview/outline, participants, reports, etc.
     * Take a look at the participants list—what changes need to be made? Anyone missing that should be invited to this committee?
  * Information for the upcoming (October) PFAS Conference at Michigan State University: Annual Symposium - Center for PFAS Research (msu.edu)<https://www.canr.msu.edu/pfas-research/Annual-Symposium/>
  * For meetings with NIFA—leadership or NPLs in D.C. or KC—you will need to plan ahead (at least 30 days notice) and reach out to NIFA’s stakeholder affairs liaison, Josh Stull ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) to request and set up a visit. Let me know if you plan to do this and I can introduce you as well as provide the list of leadership/NPLs available for in-person meetings at both locations.
  * Kristin—great meeting you and I hope to see you in Manhattan (the little apple), KS soon 😊. Another great nonfiction book—Code Breaker by Walter Isaacson (story behind CRISPR and Jennifer Doudna).
  * Another thought I had after our meeting yesterday, some multistate research committees hold joint meetings with closely aligned multistate research committees to increase networks, collaboration and coordination. I heard several of you mention other multistate research committees you participate on—any value of having a joint meeting in the future?
  * Attached are the slides I used yesterday. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Safe travels home and have a fun weekend ahead!
