2023 December Workshop: Life History Data in the Health and Retirement Study


Life History Data in the Health and Retirement Study (HRS) is a 3-day online (Zoom) workshop held December 4-6 from 10 am-3 pm that is intended to give participants an overview of the life history data resources in the HRS.

Content lectures delivered by HRS faculty and content area experts will cover a range of topics including a survey of the full set of life history measurement in the HRS, with a special focus on the Life History Mail Survey, which was fielded in 2015, 2017, and 2019 and obtains detailed retrospective residential, educational, occupational, and partnership histories for all HRS respondents prior to age 50.

Preconference workshop on cognition data at GSA

This GSA preconference workshop on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 8am-12pm will provide in-depth coverage of the cognition data from 20+ years of longitudinal cognition measurement, the ADAMS study, and the Harmonized Cognitive Assessment Protocol. The workshop will show how data from these sources can be used to develop valid survey estimations of the prevalence of mild cognitive impairment and dementia in the population and will provide practical guidance on modelling cognitive change over time using linear fixed effects models.
