Subject: Congratulations to Michael Camponovo for distinction in undergraduate education

Dear Faculty and Students,

Please allow me to congratulate Michael Camponovo, who is this year's recipient of the Higher Education Distinguished Teaching Award from the National Center for Geographic Education.  Michael was recognized for his innovative instruction in GEOG 499, in which he works tirelessly to create and provide tools, resources, and opportunities that help our undergraduates transition from being a student to the workforce or to graduate school. We are honored to have Michael as a member of this department.

Congratulations Michael!

I'd also like to point out that Michael joins other recipients of previous NCGE awards in our department, including Tracey Norrell, Solange Muņoz, Kelsey Ellis, Ron Kalafsky, Derek Alderman, and Kurt Butefish. UTK Geography has more distinguished teaching awards than any other department in the country, and I am honored and privileged to work among the most distinguished instructional team in the country. Go UT Geography & Sustainability!

Best,
Nicholas Nagle
