Hi all,

I realized all the Firefly updates have been sent to the TN-Libraries listserv or directly to non-TSLA libraries participating in the service. But it would be good to share that info here on the TLA listserv also.

Our subcontractor ExPak terminated our contract, and Tenn-Share is working in partnership with TSLA to secure a contract with a new logistics company hopefully sometime this year to reestablish service to libraries using the Firefly Courier. Service will stop on 7/15 for all non-TSLA libraries and 8/25 for TSLA libraries. We recommend not sending out new loans asap so we can use our remaining service time to work on getting items back, especially since transit has been so slow with ExPak. This situation is still definitely developing, so we will continue to send info out to participating libraries directly and through TSLA to their libraries. 

TSLA will be holding weekly meetings on Friday to support their libraries through this transition. Info for those meetings can be found below:

For non-TSLA libraries Tenn-Share has an info session scheduled for 7/10 at 1pm CT / 2pm ET, and the registration for that session can be found here. We will share what has happened, what we know so far about what comes next, and how we can best work together to support resource sharing in this interim period. Additionally we are encouraging non-TSLA libraries to join and use our Firefly listserv for communication. To subscribe,send an email to: [log in to unmask] with this in the email body: SUBSCRIBE FIREFLY Firstname Lastname . You will receive an email back that will ask you to confirm your subscription. Then you can follow the instructions in the email to confirm. Finally you will get one last email confirming that you are now subscribed.

TSLA libraries will continue to use the TN-Libraries Listserv for communication. 

As for bags, you can hang onto them so we can use them for whatever happens next. If you really don't want them around, please send them on the courier to Blount County Public Library, and I will collect them to send them back out when we are ready to start back up again.

Due to some changes, we will not be able to utilize Firefly after July 15th. Does anyone have use for some Firefly canvas bags? Ideally they would be picked up in Jackson, rather than mailed because of the expense, or sent to you via Firefly before our service ends.
