Dear TLA Colleagues,

I’m writing again to request your participation in the research project, "Public Library Support of College Literacy in Appalachia" (Project CLiA), conducted by myself, Dr. Africa Hands at University of Buffalo, Department of Information Science. This research has been approved by the University at Buffalo's Institutional Review Board (#00006720). Project CLiA investigates how public libraries support patrons' and community members' college literacy and college planning. This IMLS-funded research study aligns with IMLS’s goal to promote lifelong learning and its objective of investing in library programs that focus on continuous learning for individuals of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds and needs.

If you are a librarian or library staff member employed at a public library in Tennessee, your participation is requested and appreciated.

Your participation is voluntary and anonymous. You may stop participating at any time. There are no known risks associated with participation. I invite you to participate in this survey by going to: https://ubgse.iad1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3PmiKLvOrh2ii7c. Your expected participation is approximately 10-15 minutes during the completion of an online survey. At the end of the survey, you may choose to enter a drawing for a bundle of college planning books to add to their library collection (one book bundle per eligible library).

If you have questions about participating in the survey, please contact me at [log in to unmask].

Thank you for your consideration.

This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS #RE-250024-OLS-21). The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation's libraries and museums.
