Hello all,

It is no secret that libraries have become targets for hateful legislation these last few years. We've watched as those in power attempt to criminalize librarians and censor our communities. However, Library Legislative Day provides us a with an opportunity to speak to legislators and build relationships with them. We know that libraries are vital institutions that serve our communities in necessary ways - so let's make sure they know that too.

Please join your fellow TLA librarians in Nashville on April 4th from 7-11am to speak to legislators over coffee and donuts. We will be congregating in the Cordell Hull Building in room 8D. Legislators will join us, and we will have the opportunity to speak with them, demonstrate the validity of our libraries, and comment on legislation that affects us (both good and bad).

You can register for the event here: https://www.tnla.org/events/EventDetails.aspx?id=1724134

Send the attached graphic to your representatives with a personal invitation to join us! We also encourage librarians to schedule individual meetings with representatives and state senators to discuss legislation and build relationships. Do that as soon as possible!

Please mark April 4th on your calendars! We hope to see you there!

Thank you,
