Dear Geographers and Sustainers,

If you happen to be doing or want to do independent research this summer with the support of a faculty member, please consider applying for the Advanced Undergraduate Research Award (AURA), (see below).  The application is due on Friday, March 31, but I don't think it is too extensive.

Solange.

Subject: Reminder: Undergraduate Research Deadlines Imminently Approaching!

Hi all,

Please circulate this reminder to your faculty and networks today.

This is a reminder from the Office of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships that the applications for summer funding begin tomorrow (FRAF: Due March 28)!

Below you can see the list of opportunities. We have a very strong budget for summer research and would like to fund as many students as possible before the end of the fiscal year.

Also, quick note for those of you teaching  summer classes or leading international study abroad programs: Students are able to receive AURA awards (below) and course credit for the same activity, so if you have a student who will be completing research or creative achievement for your summer course, please work with them to apply for the AURA by Friday, March 31. Of course, AURA is open to extracurricular research as well.

Faculty Research Assistants Funding (FRAF): Faculty members apply for funding to hire paid undergraduate research assistants during the summer term. Due Tuesday, March 28 https://studentsuccess.utk.edu/urf/getting-started/find-opportunities/semester-research-assistants-program/

Advanced Undergraduate Research Award (AURA): Undergraduate students can apply for funding to support their own research with the help of a UT faculty mentor. Due Friday, March 31 https://studentsuccess.utk.edu/urf/getting-started/find-opportunities/aura/

UTGSM Advancing Access to Careers in Medicine Scholars Program (AACMSP): The University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine’s Advancing Access to Careers in Medicine Scholars Program (UTGSM AACMSP) is an 8-week summer program designed to improve knowledge of and access to careers in medicine and translational sciences among UTK undergraduates with outstanding commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Due Monday, April 3  https://studentsuccess.utk.edu/urf/getting-started/find-opportunities/utgsm-aacmsp/
