Curriculum Mapping for Academic Librarians
January 24th and 26th, 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm CST

Curriculum mapping is a process for evaluating the curriculum's cohesiveness, proper sequencing, and goal achievement. Academic libraries use it to assess connections and overlap between information literacy and the program curriculum to identify library instruction opportunities. Learn how to analyze course descriptions, determine potential connections for information literacy instruction, and produce a curriculum map. Help faculty understand how librarians can support their students across the curriculum.
Learning Objectives:
* Understanding the goals and purposes of curriculum mapping
* Analyze a curriculum map to assess current library instructional practices and impacts
* Develop a plan to implement and communicate library instruction opportunities and changes
