Bachelor's Level Student Service Contractor: Geographic Information Science and Remote Sensing Research for Coastal Wetlands and Barrier Islands  

U.S. Geological Survey, Wetland and Aquatic Research Center, Lafayette, LA

We anticipate hiring a Student Services Contractor to assist with a several geographic information science and remote sensing research projects related to coastal wetlands and barrier islands. This student contract position is open to a recent graduate with a B.S. degree (i.e., graduated within the last year). This Student Services Contractor will help with the following activities: (1) geospatial data compilation; (2) data management; (3) remote sensing; (4) working with python scripts; (5) geospatial analysis; (6) figure and table preparation; and (7) verbal and written communication of results. In addition to the project described above, the student may also assist with other projects on an ad-hoc basis. The Student Services Contractor will work with Nicholas Enwright (www.usgs.gov/staff-profiles/nicholas-enwright). 

In order to be eligible, applicants must have the status listed above and be eligible to work in the U.S. as a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident. The applicant should have an interest and experience in remote sensing and geospatial analyses.
