I would very much like to encourage any librarians out there--particularly youth librarians--to join us on our monthly zoom call. We use part of that time to discuss books relevant to children's and youth services, but we are also trying to get support networks and relationships set up to help cope with and plan for these kinds of challenges in their communities. If you'd like to be part of that conversation on November 10th, please let me know.

We experienced our first challenge last week. I was able to handle it pretty efficiently but I’m bracing for more.

I’m wondering how many TN public libraries have faced a challenge so far… Some have obviously been very public but I’m betting there are others that have not had the publicity that Maury County had. It’s great they had such a vocal advocate but the damage had already reached too far there prior to this viral advocacy.

Thanks Bryan. Received the second email complaint about LGBTQ books in our collection in two weeks this morning and I needed the reminder that our communities will support us...
