Hello Colleagues,

The ALA RUSA STARS Codes, Guidelines, and Technical Standards Committee needs your feedback concerning the draft revisions to the Interlibrary Loan Code for the United States and its Explanatory Supplement. Please read each draft thoroughly before providing feedback. To facilitate your careful reading, the committee has created a Summary of Major Changes document to highlight areas of substantial change.

The public comment period will be open until Friday, December 16, 2022. As part of the review process, all members of the U.S. resource sharing community are invited to review the documents and provide feedback to the committee through our survey or by emailing [log in to unmask]

All comments will be reviewed by the STARS Codes, Guidelines, and Technical Standards Committee before final versions of the documents are sent to STARS and RUSA leadership for approval. After approval, the final documents will be shared with the resource sharing community. We expect they will go into effect in 2023.
