Hello campus communicators,

The Center for Global Engagement offers several funding opportunities for faculty, staff, and students through the Global Catalyst Grant Program. The grants are intended to provide partial support that will help build Tennessee’s connections to international colleagues and institutional partners. They interlink Tennessee with the world beyond US borders and support international activities on UT’s campus. I encourage you to spread the word to your faculty, staff, and student audiences! More details can be found at globalgrants.utk.edu<https://globalgrants.utk.edu/>. Faculty, staff, and students! If you’re looking to get engaged globally but you’re not sure how to fund your idea, initiative, or travel, there’s a grant here for you. Find more details and proposal submission information at globalgrants.utk.edu<https://globalgrants.utk.edu/>. All proposals are due by November 11 at 5:00 p.m. EST.

➡️ Faculty Research Grants provide funding for faculty-led partnerships with international universities, institutions of higher education, and research institutes. The focus of these funds is specifically aimed at creating a strong foundation for or conducting globally engaged collaborative research, scholarship, and creative activities. Generating at least one external research proposal submission is a key deliverable of the Global Catalyst Faculty Research Grant Program

➡️ Programming Grants support activities and programs on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, campus. All supported activities must focus on international content. Further, awards must include campus-based activities that are open and free to UT faculty, staff, and students. That is, activities cannot be part of a class or for a select group of students. Engagement and collaboration with the wider community beyond the university are seen as a plus. Awards up to $5,000.

➡️ Student International Travel Grants support both undergraduate and graduate students’ travel for the purpose of attending an internationally based conference or workshop. These grants can also be used to support UT students’ international research. This funding cannot be used for Programs Abroad or similar group travel/experiences that are either co-curricular or extra-curricular. Awards up to $1,500.
