Professor Chris Fedo in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences (EPS) has shared an announcement of their colloquium speaker for this week, who is Dr. Mark Sweeney from the Department of Sustainability and the Environment at the University of South Dakota.

The colloquium in EPS is on Thursdays at the same time as ours, because way back in time EPS and Geography were together as one department. When we split, it appears we each kept the same hallowed time of Thursday late afternoon.

I wanted to share the following info about our speaker this week, who is Mark Sweeney from Univ South Dakota. Mark is a professor in the Dept of Sustainability and Environment.

Mark studies the modern environment, particularly aeolian research of dunes, dust, dust transport, and the environment. A flyer with the particulars is attached as is a link to his web page.
