Good Afternoon Geographers and Sustainers - There are two new GIS jobs available in East Tennessee right now.

  * Washington County is looking for a 9-1-1 coordinator<https://www.washingtoncountytn.org/Jobs.aspx?UniqueId=102&From=All&CommunityJobs=False&JobID=Washington-County-911-GIS-Coordinator-51> (yep, that's a GIS job due to the move to Next Gen 9-1-1<https://www.911.gov/issues/ng911/> and the need for quality addressing, routing, and response zones for various agencies like police, fire, EMT, etc. Also, lots of folks who work in 9-1-1 and computer aided dispatch<https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/publications/CAD_TN_0911-508.pdf> will be at the fall TNGIC meeting...just saying). Any of you graduating this fall with at least a few GIS classes would be qualified for this position.
  * City of Morristown is looking for a new GIS Manager<https://www.mymorristown.com/departments/human_resources/gis_manager.php>. While most of you won't have the necessary experience to take on this responsibility immediately after you graduate, it's a great idea to look over the job description to see the sorts of skills and knowledge employers in municipal government are looking for. Job description attached.
