Greetings Geographers and Sustainers – A quick update for those of you interested in attending the TN APA conference coming up in Knoxville. If you want to volunteer for the conference in exchange for free admission, do the following:

 

• Check your availability against the agenda they have posted on their event website.
• Contact Melody Butler via email ([log in to unmask]) with your availability to see if she needs help during those times.

 

As a reminder, there are numerous UTK alum working in this field and several will be attending the conference. This will be a great opportunity to learn about updates and changes to the discipline as well as meet people who can serve as potential mentors.

Good Afternoon Geographers and Sustainers – The Tennessee Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA) is meeting here in Knoxville October 26-28. For those of you interested in careers related to urban and regional planning, transportation planning, sustainable development, housing equity, and GIS, this is a great opportunity. APA is looking for student volunteers to help with the conference and in exchange can register and participate for free.

As an FYI, numerous department alum work in these disciplines across the state and it would be a great way to meet professionals in the field.
