EcoForesters is hiring for the following positions:
1) Forestry Associate and/or Forester. Two positions may be filled if two highly qualified candidates are found. Primary responsibilities are to assess our clients’ forests and write thorough ecological forest stewardship plans to improve their forests for all forest values (e.g., water, wildlife, timber…). Other work will include helping with invasive plant control, timber sales & appraisals, and any other work to further EcoForesters’ mission to conserve and restore Appalachian forests.
2) Forestry Crew Leader. Will lead one of our Forest Restoration Crews daily. Primary work is controlling non-native invasive plants usually through the application of herbicide and hand tools. Other work includes forest stand improvement work (light thinnings), trail work and planting.
3) Forestry Technicians. Forest Restoration Technicians implement on the ground forest stand improvement work, primarily controlling non-native invasive plants through applying herbicide with hand tools, but they also do light forest thinnings, trail work, and plantings.
