Dear all, I am pleased to announce the conference ‘Building(s) in Aarhus’ that will be held on September 1-2, 2022, at the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS) at Aarhus University, Denmark: https://aias.au.dk/events/aias-conference/buildingsinaarhus#c139713 This conference is firstly dedicated to Jacques Tits (1930 - 2021). It aims to bring together and build new connections between the experts in the theory of buildings and their applications (in the broad sense), as well as the young researchers in the field, and the local researchers whose work relate in one way or another to buildings. So far the speakers are: Uri Bader, Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel Jens Niklas Eberhardt, University of Wuppertal, Germany Jessica Fintzen, Universität Bonn, Germany (TBC) Linus Kramer, Münster University, Germany (TBC) Arielle Leitner, Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel Anne Thomas, University of Sydney, Australia (Online) Stefan Witzel, Giessen University, Germany (Online). If you are a young researcher working with buildings in a broad sense, and want to participate in or give a 30 minutes talk, please follow the link of the conference above, or just register here: https://forms.gle/Q9Bj6P8AuuEDM9Tr6 We plan to have up to 6 contributed talks that will be selected shortly after the deadline of the registration. We can fund a 3-nights hotel for up to 20 participants (including the 12 speakers) as well as most of the meals (including the conference dinner). The registration deadline is July 30, 2022. For example, if your submission starts with "Please post this on the geometry list" then your conference announcement will also begin with that statement. In order to keep down the volume of e-mail, only TWO announcements per conference will be approved by the moderator. The "subject" of your message should include the name of the conference and the number (first or second) of the announcement, e.g. Gauss Memorial Lectures in Geometry: Second Announcement. You are strongly encouraged to provide essential information such as dates and location near the top of the body of your message, and not require someone to visit your conference link to find it. Please check that your announcement (especially the website) is correct. Corrections will be approved only in the most critical situations, e.g. if corrected information is not available on the website. After submitting an announcement you may receive a message asking you to confirm your submission. This feature is designed to thwart the hundreds of machine-generated spam that are sent to the list and would otherwise have to be manually blocked by the moderator.
