Good afternoon!
TEL is happy to announce the addition of Tennessee historical newspapers. On June 1st, TEL users will be able to access the
Knoxville News Sentinel (1886 – Present), Memphis Commercial Appeal (1841 – Present) and Newspapers.com Southeast Edition.
For the Knoxville News Sentinel and Memphis Commercial Appeal, TEL will provide full scans of the paper although users will not have access to recent content published within the last 7 days or online only content. On July
1st, TEL will be switching from the daily full text of the Tennessean to full scans of the newspapers with the 7 day delay on content. Participating TEL libraries will also be able to acquire yearly Tennessean microfilm at a discounted rate for
the duration of the contract via ProQuest – more details about that later. Information about training, set-up, MARC records and marketing materials will be sent out later this week.
