Caitlin Harrington and Karen Brunsting of the University of Memphis invite you to participate in a study of resource budget allocations at academic libraries, tentatively called, “Current Practices in Resource Budget Allocation.” In this
study, resource budgets refer to funds used to purchase materials for the library’s collection. An allocation formula refers to a mathematical equation used to determine the distribution of the resource budget among academic programs, departments, or colleges
at an institution. This study seeks to establish current trends in resource budget allocations in academic libraries.
We expect this survey to take approximately ten minutes to complete. This survey is anonymous and entirely voluntary; you may exit at any point. Although you will not receive any direct benefit for participating,
we anticipate that this study will reveal current practices of resource budget allocation in academic libraries. This instrument was submitted to local Institutional Review Board (IRB), and was determined not to require IRB approval or review.
