Good morning campus communicators –

This week (Feb 28–Mar 4) is International Sustainable Development Goals Week. The SDGs are a set of 17 goals set out by the United Nations to serve as a call to action for all countries to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. Universities are in an excellent position to contribute to achieving these goals because of the existing knowledge, research, and innovative thinking that is foundational to higher education.

To celebrate this week, our Global SDG Faculty Fellow, Dr. Hannah Herrero, Assistant Professor of Geography, is leading a virtual Coffee and Conversations event on Thursday, March 3rd from 3–4 p.m. At this event she will discuss the presence of the UN SDGs on the UT campus, how faculty/staff and students can get involved, and the UT courses that relate to each of the 17 UN SDGs.

More information on the event can be found here. If you are able, we ask that you promote this via your social media channels using this media kit here.
