NASA is recruiting for the spring 2022 cohort of their DEVELOP internship program. One of our former students, Meghan Durham (Russell) completed this program in Asheville and had a great experience studying the impacts of climate change
on coffee and food production in Central America. You can find the details of Meghan's project online at
https://develop.larc.nasa.gov/2018/summer/CentralAmericaAg.html. Meghan also shared her research at the fall TNGIC conference in Kingsport (photo attached). You can find the project’s final research poster attached.
Details for applying for the Spring 2022 cohort are available at https://develop.larc.nasa.gov/apply.php. Because many
of the locations are offering virtual internships, this opens up a lot of places that you may not have been able to attend before. Each location focuses on a different topic covering everything from ecological modeling to energy production to natural disasters
to air quality. For those of you interested more in either coding or community engagement, they also have projects focusing on environmental justice, urban heat exposure, and flood risk in Mexico. See the attached PDF.
