Hey all,

For those of you who don't know me I am a recent alumni who graduated from UTK in 2019. I have been working at Esri as an ArcGIS Online Support Analyst since June 2020.

I was the mentor of one of our summer interns at Esri. My mentee was able to get hired as a result of the internship.

Feel free to reach out to me with questions about the internship if you would like.

Regards,
Brennan Wilson

Subject: [CLUBGGY] ESRI Summer Internships and Assistantanships

ESRI is now accepting applications for their summer 2021 internships. ESRI is one of the few companies that brought all of their interns on during the pandemic (virtually). Often a summer internship with ESRI is a 12-week job interview with the company hiring folks at the end. This is rolling so the earlier you apply the better chances you have. Be sure to reach out to some of our alumni in the LinkedIn group who worked as interns if you're interested in learning more.

ESRI also offers weeklong assistantships for their various user conferences throughout the year. In the past this covered your lodging, food, and entrance to the conference in exchange for volunteering a few hours per day at the conference. I had the experience as a student and loved it.

I know some of you have no interest in GIS as a career, but remember that the “ES” in ESRI stands for Environmental Systems. ESRI puts their money where their mouth is with a heavy emphasis on conservation, science, humanitarian assistance, and sustainability. Also, keep in mind that ESRI is a huge company and they hire everyone from human resources specialists to contract lawyers to graphic designers. Check out their career website for more information: https://www.esri.com/en-us/about/careers/overview.
