Instruction & Outreach Librarian
Job Description:
Promotes the library and information literacy to the campus through individual research assistance and group instruction; produces handouts and tutorials in print and video; produces
promotional material about library resources and services; provides reference service in person and online. Working Conditions: Fulltime, M-F, 9:00 AM - 5 PM; one evening per week; weekends in rotation

Provides and coordinates library instruction for all disciplines throughout the university

Assists students with research

Assists patrons with reference questions in all subjects using print and online resources

Coordinates outreach initiatives for the library and promotes library resources and services

Assesses the success of information literacy initiatives

Creates instructional materials
-
Promotes information literacy throughout the campus

Serves as liaison to assigned academic departments
-
Participates in collection development
-
Maintains professional development in librarianship
-
Serves on university committees as assigned

Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Required:
-
Masters in Library Science or Masters in Information Sciences from an ALA accredited library/information program
-
Library experience
-
Excellent and demonstrable written and verbal communication skills
-
Presentation skills
-
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
-
Ability to learn and use new technologies
-
Ability to lift 40 pounds and push loaded carts
Preferred:
-
Experience with Camtasia or other video-editing software
-
Experience with learning management systems
