TLA Members,

The Publications Advisory Board is searching for an Editor for the Tennessee Library Association Newsletter. I.              Statement of Services
                                Essential Function:
·         Produce a 3½ page manuscript 4 times per year (on a quarterly basis:  January/February; April/May; July/August; October/November)
·         Review TLA-related articles and edit/summarize pertinent information for inclusion in the Newsletter
·         Focus only on TLA activities (not general TN library activities)
·         Submit content to Publications Advisory Board Chair(s) and TLA President for review
·         Upon approval, send content to the TLA Graphic Artist
·         The Editor will work directly with the TLA Graphic Artist, who will design and prepare each edition of the Newsletter for printing.  The Graphic Artist will work with the printer.  Thus, the Editor is only required to provide the information (indicating priority of placement and headlines) in the manner prescribed by the Graphic Artist.
·         Notify TLA Executive Director when content has been submitted to graphic designer
·         Maintain good working relationships with TLA Board members, TLA membership, and TN library personnel

All equipment/software and other supplies needed to complete these services are the responsibility of the Editor.

II.             Compensation

In consideration of services outlined in Section I. TLA will deliver a stipend of $150.00 to the Editor, upon completion of each issue, for an annual total of $600.00.

All stipends which total $600 or more during a calendar year will be reported to the IRS but no withholding of income taxes, medicare taxes, nor social security taxes will be made by TLA.  It is the Editor's responsibility to make such payments to the appropriate agencies.

III.            Termination

                This is an annual contract (see coverage dates below) and is renewable upon
                the recommendation by the TLA Publications Advisory Board  and approval
                of the TLA Executive Committee.

This contract may be terminated by either party by written notice received at least 60
days prior to the date of termination.
