The Cataloging Norms Interest Group seeks interested people to serve as co-Vice-Chairs from July 2021-June 2022 and as Chair from July 2022-June 2023.

Housed within the Core division of ALA, the Cataloging Norms Interest Group offers a forum for the exploration, communication, and exchange of ideas on the dynamics
and evolution of cataloging/metadata norms and workflows. We encourage and seek out participation from anyone with an interest in cataloging - from public, academic, school or special libraries - regardless of experience level or training.
The co-Vice Chairs and co-Chairs work closely together to plan and execute all aspects of the roundtable discussions that are held during the Interest Group's ALA Annual meetings and Core Interest Group Weeks. Tasks include sending calls for proposal emails to listservs, vetting proposals, sending promotional emails to listservs, coordinating logistics with round table discussion facilitators, and managing all aspects of in-person and virtual meetings.
Interested applicants must be a member of Core.
Interested applicants may be required to attend the in-person 2022 and 2023 Annual Conference of ALA and be able to organize and attend CORE's Virtual IG weeks in the Winter and Summer.
Those interested in becoming co-Vice-Chair of the Cataloging Norms Interest Group should submit a letter of interest that includes:

  * A short biographical sketch: who are you and why does this group interest you?
  * Your tentative availability to attend in-person ALA Annual Conferences in 2022 and 2023, and Core Virtual IG Weeks in 2022 and 2023
  * Your resume or CV as an attachment

Please submit your letter of interest by May 14th, 2021 to in-coming co-chairs, Elizabeth Rush ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) and Elisabeth Kaune ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>).
