The University of Tennessee, Knoxville Division of Diversity and Engagement is seeking a full-time director of communications.

 

The ideal candidate will be seasoned in DEI work, a strategic leader, and possessing skills to advance the internal and external messaging of the division. This position will report to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Engagement, and work closely with the Office of Communications and Marketing. 

 

The successful candidate will: 

• Generate awareness around strategic DDE priorities and campus-wide initiatives around diversity, equity and inclusion - Work with DDE leadership to develop and coordinate communications strategy
• Manage Communication and content-generation Process aligned with communications strategy
• Maintain website, social media platforms and print materials
• Work to prevent and identify known, foreseeable, and potential media/community issues related to DEI in coordination with the Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM)
• Write, edit, proofread, and distribute communication materials in response to diversity, equity, and inclusion issues on campus, in coordination with OCM.
• Provides leadership for information and data collection for presentations and communications shared with internal and externals partners about impacts.
