Traffic and Transportation Engineering and Logistics (PANAM-Lima)--the
largest and most prestigious transportation research conference with
focus on Latin-America, which will take place this August. Please
disseminate among your students and associates. Traditionally, this
conference has a major emphasis on freight.
This is a great opportunity to develop connections with the
Latin-American transportation praticioner and research communities.

Dear prospective participants of PANAM-Lima,
We are writing to inform you of the decisions made by the Board of
Directors of the Pan-American Transportation Research Society
(PANAMSTR) in response to the COVID-19 crisis regarding the /XXI/
Pan-American Conference on Traffic and Transportation Engineering
and Logistics (PANAM/-Lima/), originally scheduled for August 2020
and postponed to August 2021 on account of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
To start with, we are pleased to report that, for the first time in
history, PANAM will be held *virtually* from *August 11 to 13, 2021*.
In line with our previous announcements, a new call for abstracts
will be made to allow the transportation community—both researchers
and practitioners—to submit their abstracts describing recent work
for consideration for presentation and publication as part of
PANAM-Lima. The new deadline for submitting abstracts will be *March
30, 2021*. Abstracts that were previously accepted for the event
will continue to be part of the PANAM Lima program unless the
authors decide not to participate.
We are pleased to announce that we are finalizing plans to make
special issues with select PANAM articles in top journals such as
Transportation Research Part-A: Policy and Practice, Case Studies on
Transport Policy, and other Spanish-language journals. Those authors
who wish to submit their works to the special editions associated
with the event must send their full articles no later than *June 15,
2021*.
To facilitate the logistics of the event, we ask that all authors
send a video of their presentation before *June 30, 2021*. In the
coming weeks, we will be providing more information about the video
guidelines through the page www.panamstr.org

Participants will be able to register with a discounted rate until
*June 30, 2021*, while regular registration will be available until
*July 15, 2021*.

Les escribimos para informarles sobre las decisiones tomadas por el
Consejo Directivo de la Sociedad Panamericana de Investigación en
Transporte y Logística (PANAMSTR) respecto al Congreso Panamericano
de Transporte y Logística (PANAM-Lima), que había sido programada
originalmente para Agosto 2020, y que fue pospuesta para Agosto 2021
en respuesta a la crisis de COVID-19.
Para empezar, nos complace informar que, por primera vez en la
historia, el PANAM se realizará de forma*virtual* del *11 al 13 de
agosto de 2021*.
En línea con lo anunciado previamente, se realizará un nuevo llamado
a resúmenes para permitir que los profesionales del transporte
puedan someter a consideración del comité académico sus más
recientes trabajos. La nueva fecha límite para el envío de resúmenes
será el *30 de marzo de 2021*. Los resúmenes que ya fueron aceptados
con anterioridad para el evento seguirán siendo parte del programa
de PANAM Lima, a menos que los autores decidan no participar.
Nos complace anunciar que estamos finalizando los planes para hacer
ediciones especiales con artículos selectos de PANAM-Lima en las
revistas Transportation Research Part-A: Policy and Practice, Case
Studies on Transport Policy, y otras revistas en Español. Aquellos
autores que deseen someter sus trabajos a las ediciones especiales
asociadas al evento deberán enviar sus artículos completos a más
tardar el *15 de junio de 2021*.
Para facilitar la logística del evento, agradecemos a todos los
autores enviar una grabación de su presentación antes del *30 de
