Good morning, All,

The Access and Patron Services Roundtable (AaPSRT) is looking for panelists willing to speak briefly about their liaison activities during a 50-minute presentation on liaison programs in both public and academic libraries at the 2021 TLA Annual Conference.

You read right--the liaison activities of public libraries. The AaPSRT is casting a wide net for presenters. Perhaps your liaison person goes by a different name: Civic and Community Engagement Coordinator, Communications Specialist, Community Education Coordinator, Family Outreach Coordinator, Embedded Librarian, Partnerships Coordinator, or Youth Community Coordinator. Maybe someone from your Board or Friends.

Librarians liaise with diverse communities in different ways, but it is all for the same purpose: to create relationships and better engage with our specific communities. Examples already slated to present include rethinking traditional academic subject liaison work and outreach aimed at graduate students. However, we sincerely want to hear from a variety of libraries and librarians.

How has thoughtful collaboration between your library and stakeholders led to increased knowledge and use of resources and services? Encouraged greater participation in collection development? What's the potential for such collaborations?

If you're interested, please respond to me off-list by Monday 1 March with an idea of what you'd like to share. Experiences large and small; successful--and not so successful!--are welcome.

Ideally, the ideas we gather and present will ignite imaginations and useful discussion.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

-- Bess
