Please share with anyone that might be interested in an entry level wildlife damage position in Colorado.  I know the state director is on the forefront of increasing WS’ diversity and inclusion which is why I think he reached out to me to share (I am the chair of WS Civil Rights Diversity and Inclusion Committee).  Under his leadership I think this could be a great foot in the door job for someone.

Happy New Year!

Erin

Alyssa and Erin,

Happy New Year.  The Wildlife Services-Colorado program has a GS-404-5/6 wildlife specialist position being advertised now.  This would be a rewarding position with variable work that could lay ground work for a person wanting to be competitive for a wildlife biologist position someday.  If you know someone who would be a good fit working with people in a small city/large town solving a variety of urban/suburban wildlife damage conflicts involving geese, deer, bears, prairie dogs, pigeons, and raccoons then inform them of this position.  The work is mostly protecting utilities from wildlife conflicts, wildlife conflicts at an exclusive resort, urban resident Canada geese, and aviation safety conflicts at a regional airport.

I have attached the job vacancy announcement.  A person interested in this position can call me or Doug Ekberg.  Doug’s phone number is 719-306-3957.  Thank you for your assistance recruiting for this position.

Martin
