JOB TITLE:

Assistant Librarian - Learning & Engagement Librarian

 

JOB PURPOSE:  

The University of Wyoming Libraries invites applications for a Learning & Engagement Librarian in the Education & Research Services division. The Learning & Engagement Librarian serves as the Libraries’ primary contact for information literacy instruction and outreach during the first-year experience and works collaboratively with other librarians and with teaching faculty to develop services and strategies to actively engage with students.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Teach research and information literacy skills to undergraduate students in support of UW's general education curriculum

Participate in library instructional initiatives and research help services as a member of the Research & Instruction team

Lead library instruction, student engagement programs, and outreach activities for first-year college students

Develop learning resources such as research guides, instructional videos, and online tutorials to support asynchronous learning.

Partner with university academic support units and disciplines in support of teaching and learning

Serve as a liaison to one or more departments or colleges

Provide support for the adoption and development of Open Educational Resources

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

ALA-accredited MLS, MLIS or equivalent

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with librarians, faculty, and staff

Demonstrated willingness to learn new skills and concepts both independently and in team settings

   

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:     

Experience providing instruction, research consultation services, and/or workshops in an academic library

Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
