Topic: Current Developments in Connected and Automated Trucks

Registration: https://ops.fhwa.dot.gov/freight/fpd/talking_freight/index.htm

Description and Presentations: In recent years, significant research has been conducted on connected and automated trucks. Public and private organizations have tested trucks using various levels of automation. Some truck carriers have conducted over-the-road tests that evaluated the capabilities of connected and automated truck technologies. Though it remains unclear when connected or eventually autonomous trucks will be deployed more widely, the increasing number and percentage of successful test runs increases the likelihood that various types of semi-autonomous and autonomous trucks will make their way to U.S. roadways in the years to come.

This webinar will discuss current research being conducted by government agencies and private truck carriers and examine the state of truck automation within the trucking industry.
