Hello, communicators!

I thought many of you would be interested in the Office of Science’s seminar series, “Communicating Science with Impact.” The first video in the series (linked below) is about an hour long and discusses questions around how to identify science stories that the public finds interesting, how to frame stories for better impact, etc.

What makes a discovery in science newsworthy?

The Office of Science (SC), Office of Communications and Public Affairs (OCPA) has put together a series of seminars: Communicating Science with Impact.

The first seminar was Anatomy of a News Story, presented by Office of Communication and Public Affairs director, Rick Borchelt. The session covered what types of announcements require press releases; the relationship between OCPA, DOE Public Affairs, and the labs’ press offices; and the benefits press releases have for SC’s research.
