Today is the last day of Career Transitions. Time to replace it with Peterson’s Career Prep! There will be a redirect from Career Transitions to Career Prep for the next few months; that is temporary so I do encourage everyone to update their links by the end of the year.

What do I need to do?

Updates to Testing & Education Reference Center have been delayed until end of October so no need to update anything on TERC currently.

Short - Gale Presents: Peterson’s Career Prep offers access to resumes and cover letters templates and tools, and advice for interviewing and networking.

Long - Gale Presents: Peterson’s Career Prep accommodates job seekers at all levels, whether they are entering the workforce for the first time or searching for new opportunities. Career assessments prompt personalized career recommendations and guidance on programs, knowledge, skills, and ability. Search for open jobs opportunities and create visually interesting résumés, cover letters, and websites that can be externally shared with prospective employers, using prebuilt templates.

Primary Audience: Job seekers, from high schoolers looking for internships to adults looking for the right fit.

- Personalize career assessments focused on a user’s interests, values, personality, and workplace preferences

- Comprehensive career information including videos, articles, best practices, and downloadable worksheets

- Job searching capabilities via integration with Indeed.com that matches listing based on a user’s assessment results

- Resume editing software powered by VisualCV Resume Creator that provides 5,000 resume templates and cover letter samples

Gale Presents: Peterson's Career Prep is a resource that can help job seekers and students with all aspects of the career and job hunting process; Career Transitions will no longer be available as of September 30, 2020. Although there is a notification on Career Transitions and we plan on putting a redirect from Career Transitions to Career Prep, please work with your patrons to download any existing resumes and cover letters.

Gale Presents: Peterson's Career Prep helps users learn about job paths using O*Net career exploration tools and receive personalized career and college recommendations. By creating a free account, users can create resumes and cover letters and search for positions. Students looking for a career or people looking to switch to another industry can explore schools and training programs and obtain advice on both finding a job or advancing an existing career.

Peterson's Career Prep can be accessed on computers, tables and smartphones to allow for easy use with any internet connected device. Peterson’s confirmed they are planning to make a change to map any existing TERC/Test Prep user accounts to Career Prep accounts with the same email. This will allow users to access resumes in either product.
