Hi campus communicators,

End Hunger/FEED Change theme year is hosting its kick-off event featuring Donnie Smith, UT alumnus and former president and CEO of Tyson Foods. EH/FC initiative was launched earlier this year to raise the awareness of hunger on a local and global scale. A recent survey shows that 32% of UT Knoxville students are food insecure. The situation is made worse during COVID-19. The EH/FC working group consists of faculty, staff, and students and works collectively with all units on campus to implement solutions to address the hunger issue. We appreciate your help in advance to promote the kick-off event on Sept. 24.

Please join the End Hunger/FEED Change initiative on Sept. 24 at 3 pm for a live conversation “ From Campus to Global: a Life Experience of Addressing Hunger” with Donnie Smith. Smith is a 1980 animal science program graduate, former president and CEO of Tyson Foods, and a member of the UT Board of Trustees. We will discuss hunger on campus, across Tennessee, and how UT is involved helping to end hunger globally.
