Good afternoon!

As you know, electronic resources are forever changing. TEL has some upcoming changes for Testing and Education Reference Center (TERC).<http://galesupport.com/telGeo/telGeoLink.php?loc=tel_s_tsla&db=TERC> On June 25th, TERC will be getting a new platform for the practice tests! I'm excited about it because the current platform has lots of internal notifications and scheduling options that require many clicks before you get the center of the tootsie pop...or practice test! The tests will be mobile responsive and have improved accessibility. The rest of TERC remains the same - ebooks, resume creator and other education and career materials.

Benefits of the new Practice Test platform include:

  * The D2L platform is WCAG 2.1 compliant and mobile responsive
  * Simplified user flow reduces the number of clicks it takes to start taking a test
  *   Increased video content
  * Better support for outcomes or competency-based learning (future releases)

Do you need to do anything?

  * There will be no changes to MARC records or direct links
  * Users should finish any in-progress tests by June 24th, 2020 (there is a notification posted within TERC)
  * On June 25th, log in and see the improvements! The next ACT testing date is July 18th.

     * Think about creating TERC Hub links using the TEL Link Generator<https://www.galesupport.com/telGeo/du.php> for your website, social media, learning management system (LMS) to direct your students directly to practice ACT tests or any other test area!

Will there be any training available?

  * I'll send information about upcoming webinars but you can always sign up for general and TEL specific Gale webinars on https://support.gale.com/tel/webinars. The new platform is very intuitive so I recommend diving in on June 25th!

Also if you haven't taken a look at the resume creator, VisualCV Resume Creator, included in TERC, it's definitely worth a look! You can make some great looking resumes by uploading a current resume or using one of their templates! Learn more by watching this webinar -- http://support.gale.com/doc/tel-webinar. We will being getting the Career Assessment resources referenced in the webinar later this summer.

Thanks,
Andrea
