Hi -
The other day I sent out some information about the 2020 Census and thought I would continue to share information about other ways to encourage civic engagement in your communities even your school and library is still closed to the public.
There are still ways to participate in your community while social distancing!
The first step to voting in Tennessee is Voter Registration! Next deadline for August elections is July 7. The first time I voted in Tennessee, I didn’t realize I had to register 30 days prior to the election which prevented me from
voting in that election and resulted in many civic failure tears. Help new voters and TN newbies like me by reminding them of deadlines and registration methods!
GoVoteTN Online Voter Registration
Voters can register online (https://ovr.govote.tn.gov/) or by using the GoVoteTN App (https://sos.tn.gov/products/elections/govotetn-voter-app).
You must be a registered voter before requesting an Absentee Ballot. Just in case you receive questions about Absentee Ballots, I recommend checking the Secretary of State’s website often as rules and regulations have changed recently.
There are also deadlines associated with requesting to vote by mail-in absentee ballots.
