Good afternoon!
The Assessment Steering Committee has received questions and concerns regarding data
collection for program assessment in the midst of responding to COVID-19.
We encourage all program faculty to do their best to collect meaningful data and report on student learning improvement for AY 2019-2020. Use data that was collected in Summer and Fall 2019 semesters, and do what is possible to
capture data in Spring 2020, even if this means modifying your assessment plan. Be creative in thinking of ways to measure the SLOs your unit created to measure student learning. There

As a reminder, the reports for this academic year are not due until September 15th. Therefore, the focus over the next few weeks is on
data collection; analysis for outcomes can take place at a later time.
The Assessment Steering Committee is here to assist in any way we can during this difficult time. If you have further questions or concerns, please email
[log in to unmask] for assistance. We are happy to schedule a phone call or Zoom meeting to ensure
all program faculty have what they need to produce a quality, purposeful assessment report.
Thank you for your commitment to quality program assessment at UT Knoxville. Stay healthy!
