Cathy... I haven’t read everything yet so you may have said it but do we need to cancel our hotel room if we reserved in the block?

TLA Members:

Please bear with me - this is a lengthy email with lots of details. And a warning - If you email me with a question that was covered in this email, I will probably respond by asking you to read the email.

After several meetings and many negotiations, this past Friday, the TLA Conference was rescheduled for May 5-7. Two days later, the CDC issued a guidance asking for group gatherings of 50 or more be canceled or postponed for eight weeks.  May 5 - 7 falls in Week 8 of this projection.  Ugh. As we wait for directives, this is what I can tell you.  FOR NOW, we are sticking to this postponed plan. THIS PLAN MAY CHANGE -  It may change more than once,  Our goal is to keep you safe while having a great learning event and the plan will change as many times as possible to make that happen.

Refunds - the short answer is the TLA Conference does not have a refund policy because the conference does not give refunds.  This is a small Association and quite honestly, we cannot absorb this much of a financial loss.

Our goal is to see you all on the other side of this mess, in great health with lovely smiles and this present crisis over. I regret that I cannot answer many questions now, but the truth is I do not know the answers.  This is an incredibly stressful time for us all.

For now, be safe, take reasonable precautions, and think of others. Be the guiding lights your community needs to see. Grant kindness wherever you can.
